June 2012 | Globaïa's co-directed short film opens Rio+20
After over 700,000
viewings in 3 months, our short film 'Welcome to the Anthropocene', co-produced and co-directed along with the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (IGBP), the Stockholm Resilience Centre (SRC) and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO), has been presented at the very beginning of the Rio+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development by the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon. The film is now being translated in several languages, including Chinese, Arabic and German. Congratulations to all our partners for this historic moment.

In recent months we have developed, along with several international institutions, a new educational website dedicated to the Anthropocene and global change sciences: Anthropocene.info
March 2012 | Globaïa co-direct a film on the Great Acceleration
March 2012 | Globaïa creates visuals for Planet Under Pressure
The major scientific conference held in London from 26 to 29 March 2012 relied heavily on images of the Earth produced by Globaïa to illustrate the overall changes that mark our times.

July 2011 | Anthropocene Cartography
We've built a new section showing some cartographic explorations of our time, namely the Anthropocene.
June 2011 | A quick montage inspired by Apple's future campus
For the sheer fun of it, I made this montage of ring-shaped features created by humans around the world, as a tribute to Apple's upcoming campus. Thanks to Google Earth.

December 2009 | Introducing Maana Copenhagen
Maana our short film will be presented at the Indigenous Voices on Climate Change Film Festival at the National Museum of Denmark in Copenhagen in connection with the events surrounding COP-15. This film was made with the participation of Artcirq and in collaboration with Isuma Productions. Thank you to the team Isuma.tv and Citt Williams of United Nations University.
November 2009 | Conference in Copenhagen (COP-15)
In December, the country will gather in Copenhagen to define concerted actions to be undertaken to stem the climate crisis that threatens the balance of the world. This meeting is of paramount importance. This conference focuses on the context of COP-15 and the issues to be raised on this occasion. A portrait of our current understanding of climate change and its likely developments will be presented. Similarly, commitments and positions of Quebec and Canada will be discussed.
September 2009 | New conference on global fisheries crisis
You feel concerned about the state of the seas, the crisis of fisheries, whaling and the impact of climate change on oceans? This conference provides a richly illustrated and documented overview of our impacts on marine environments. And it presents as well the measures to be implemented to safegard the seas.
July 2009 | Incorporation
Globaïa has full legal status — non-profit organization — which will enable us to pursue our mission. A first board of directors was held. A multitude of projects and partnerships are in development.
